Densimetric Table and Gravity Separator Technology

History and Purpose

• Developed in the 1930s by Oliver Steel, gravity separators (e.g., Oliver tables) are essential for separating high-quality coffee beans from lighter impurities.
• Widely used globally for coffee and other grains, these machines ensure only top-quality beans leave the dry mill.

Functionality

• The gravity table has a porous surface moved by an eccentric propulsion system (back-and-forth motion created by an off-centre mechanism).
