In the west of Guatemala, the sprawling region of San Marcos stretches from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala’s second-largest city, in the east to the Mexican border in the west. San Marcos has rich and varied agricultural land, producing grain, fruit, meat, and wool as well as coffee.
