What’s in Chapter Two?
- In this chapter we provide an understanding of how your public water supplier treats your water before it gets to you. This includes a look at how water is made safe to drink, through disinfection and flocculation.
- In Chapter One we looked at the dissolved material in water. In this chapter we look at the undissolved solids known as colloids. We learn how it is that a substance that is not dissolved can still float.
- We look at chemical contaminants that can get into your water — such as salt, or nitrates that come from the use of pesticides in agriculture.
